FloJo Friday

It's that time again! FloJo Friday; where I paint my nails in FloJo-esque style in tribute of my personal nail icon and track star extraordinaire, Florence Griffith-Joyner...

Today's  design was done on my sister's nails...

I think it's nice and very FloJo...
Stay classy.

Thanksgiving Day Manicures

I'm not big on holidays. Especially Thanksgiving. I subscribe to the Wednesday Addams take on Thanksgiving...

My family doesn't have Turkey dinner. Instead, we have a southern dish, Gumbo, that my mother makes every year.

Unfortunately for me, this year I just so happen to be extremely sick with a cold. This, however, didn't stop anyone from requesting that I paint their nails while visiting. So, I let them peruse the net and they found two designs they wanted me to recreate...

My sister's best friend always wants white nails so it wasn't a surprise when she picked this.

Little sister #2 loves Owl's and picked this...

I like how they both turned out...

Stay classy.

Peace... And much lacquer to you.

Movie Swag Week: Day 7...

1. Sue Ellen Crandell: Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead (1991)
A fashionista in her own rite, Sue El took the bull by the horns when Mrs. Sturak, the babysitter who had been terrorizing her siblings, unexpectedly met her maker.

In order to get the job of your dreams you have to sometimes embellish your resume and spruce up your wardrobe. Sue El knew this and was well prepared for the task at hand.
She had the cut-and-sew skills to turn her mothers less than adequate clothes into a fashion forward selection of funky, yet fresh workplace attire. Not only did she transform herself into a 17-year-old fashion executive, but she spearheaded GAW's transition into a uniform manufacturing power house.

I've done this design before on my sister's nails but Sue El's earrings in the first pic made me think of this design so I decided to do it on my nails...

Sue El had some pretty fresh accessories. I think these nails fit nicely with her style...

And there you have it. The seven most swagged out female movie characters according to me. Who are your seven?

Stay classy.

Peace... And much lacquer to you.

Movie Swag Week: Day 6...

 2. Cher Horowitz: Clueless (1995)

Kreayshawn speaks about her disdain for high fashion garb in her song Gucci Gucci, but Cher Horowitz proved that just because you rock that new, new ish, it doesn't make you a basic chick.
A silver spoon fed teenager with a heart of gold, Cher had the means to rock the high-end gear and the fashion sense to wear it well.

This plaid design was inspired Cher's yellow plaid outfit in the movie...

One more swagged out lady... Who could it be???

Stay classy.

Peace... And much lacquer to you.

My Beautiful, Dark, Twisted Nails...

A year ago today, Kanye West's album My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy was released...
I LOVE Kanye West's music. I also love his artistic vision. I decided to recreate some of it on my nails in celebration of this amazing album...

I think I did ok considering the brushes I had to work with and the miniature nails I have... Lol

I wanted to recreate the banned alternate cover but the one on my CD is blurred...
Grrr...
Hooray for Kanye It's a celebration, bitches!

Stay classy.

Peace... And much lacquer to you.

Movie Swag Week: Day 5...

3. Teri Griffith: Just one of the Guys (1985)
Suspecting that a coveted summer Journalism internship is out of her grasp unless she takes drastic action, Terri decides to enroll herself in a school across town posing as a boy to give herself a leg up on the competition.
Girl Terri                                 Boy Terri
Fresh to death whether she was dressed as a girl or a boy, Terri had males and females alike hoping to be the object of her affection.

Both boy Terri and girl Terri had a flawless wardrobe. No matter whom she stepped out of the house as, she was dressed to impress.

I used the two colors that represent the two different sexes. I did this design on my sister's nails.
Argyle always makes me think of high school for some reason. I don't know why. But that's why I chose argyle...
 This is what I used:
Pure Ice-Flirt Alert
Sinful-Savage
Good Nails Gone BAD (franken)-Diamond Heist
Stay classy.

Peace... And much lacquer to you.
